A metallic gauntlet allowed its wearer to kill a Kleynach demon by grabbing the demon by the throat.[1]
History[]
According to the legend, Kleynach demons attacked human villages and incinerated anyone who attempted to fight them. However, "one brave and worthy knight" had a glove fashioned and blessed by "all the Powers of Light."[1]
The blessed glove made its way to the United States and Denver bought it in 1975 at a yard sale in Covina. For years, he had no use for the glove except as an oven mitt. Decades later, when Angel sought Denver for information on how to kill one of Wolfram & Hart's Senior Partners, Denver gave him the glove for free, as Angel had changed Denver's views on life when the two met in 1952. Darla then killed Denver, also seeking to wipe out the Senior Partners but wanting to take their place.[1]
Angel and Darla fought for the glove at the Wolfram & Hart Los Angeles branch. This time, Angel and W&H's security guards defeated Darla, and she lost the glove. Angel used it to slay the Senior Partner, who had materialized as a Kleynach demon, as the two fell from the building and into the ground.[1]
Angel kept the glove with himself when he took the elevator that was supposed to take him to the Home Office, where he believed the Senior Partners dwelled. However, when he discovered that the source of the Partners' power was Earth itself, he gave up his self-imposed mission of destroying the firm. As he left the elevator, he dropped the blessed glove.[1]
