Berenice was a Slayer from an alternative reality where Buffy Summers did not exist. She was active in the 11th century and had Andrey Kurgan as her Watcher.[1]
Biography[]
Berenice was trained by the prodigious Watcher Kurgan and was like a daughter to him. However, he eventually descended into black magic and lost his position in the Watchers Council. In seek of immortality, Kurgan bound his blacken soul to his cursed grimoire just as he was dying. In an attempted to break the bond, Berenice joined with a white witch to use her Slayer blood — powerful and pure of intention — and allowed Kurgan's body to die free and cleansed.[1]
