Benny is the Serpent of Eden, who tempted Adam and Eve, his true name is unknown. When Illyria arrives in the city of Bete Noire, he called her trying to eat her (as he often did with newcomers); however they recognized each other.
She started to punch him, because she banished him from Vahla ha'nesh,and threatened to dismember him if she saw him again, when he said that Bete Noire is not her city, Illyria said: "Any city I am in becomes by definition my city." In that moment, the new Magistrate of the city, Liandra intervenes, saying that it's bad for morale if she doesn't take care of her citizens, even those unworthy as Benny, saving him from Illyria's violence.
He appeared in the finale, in a destroyed New York, and grabbed Illyria's scythes.
