Behavior modifier was a chip capable of controlling the motor functions of those in which it was implanted. Riley Finn unknowingly had one in his chest due to Maggie Walsh's plans for the final stage of the 314 Project. Adam activated it to pacify Riley while Adam underwent his attack against the Initiative, but Riley was able to cut it out using a shard of glass.[1]
Unlike the behavior-modification circuitry, this chip was tied directly into the central nervous system through the thoracic nerve instead of being implanted in the brain. Another difference was that this device did not work by causing pain, but by taking control of the victim's body, which was then under the control of whoever controlled the chip.[1]
