Barbary Coast, Part Three is the third and final issue of the Barbary Coast comic book miniseries. Written by David Tischman and illustrated by Franco Urru, it was originally published on June 16, 2010, by IDW Publishing.
Synopsis[]
Earthquakes. Dragons. Angel. Everything comes to a shattering conclusion as Angel's attempt to "cure" his newfound soul comes crashing down along with the rest of San Francisco. Plus, an old enemy shows just how long they've been watching him. Did we mention a dragon?[1]
Summary[]
In the midst of the earthquake, Angel fights with Ling Kai in dragon form while Bart also attacks him. The city is in ruins and the sun is rising. Angel wonders if this will be his end. He is able to fight back and puts an end to Bart. Angel then flees to safety from the sunlight.
Meanwhile, there is chaos from the earthquake. Nurses are in the street helping patients, and Hawkins is down there blowing his whistle. Kryll and Lynch have been let go by the police in the midst of the chaos. The thick smoke has blotted out sunlight. Angel finds Hawkins, gets his whistle, and finds the dragon left of the Mission Opera House.
After sparring with the dragon, Angel meets Salvo, a gentleman who tuns the organ. Angel gets Salvo to play the organ and, after blowing the whistle, the dragon calms down. Just outside the Opera house, they are prepared to blow the building up when Angel comes out carrying Ling Kai's unconscious body. Kryll and Lynch loot houses when suddenly Lynch disappears.
Angel carries Ling Kai back to Xin, who finishes the tattoo. Ling Kai threatens to stake Angel, who says he ate the last girl who spoke to him like that. She slashed Mihn with a knife and yells at Angel to feed on the bleeding girl. Instead, Angel grabs Ling Kai and whispers something to her, who runs off. Angel refuses to divulge to Xin what he said, but ensures him it was not polite.
Leaving the Carlton Hotel, Angel meets Caruso, and they discuss the Opera House. Caruso warns Angel there are dark forces at work in San Francisco. In an apartment across the street, Bart looks out the window to them. He talks to Abraham Behr, who has cleaned up has appearance. Behr tells Bart the Senior Partners do not want Angel dead and will compensate Bart for his work.
