Barbary Coast is a miniseries of the Angel comic book meta-series. Written by David Tischman and illustrated by Franco Urru, the three issues were originally published from April to June 2010 by IDW Publishing.
Premise[]
After being cursed by the Kalderash and subsequently rejected by Darla, Angel travels to San Francisco to find a cure from a Chinese healer, who asks him to carry out a simple task for him. It proves all but simple, dragging Angel into an adventure with a mysterious tattooed girl, an assassin, a dragon, and an earthquake.

The story is set after the flashbacks from "Orpheus" but before Blood & Trenches.

Behind the scenes[]
- The idea for the story came from David Tischman's fascination with this time period and his wish to write a comic set during this era, which was later decided would be an Angel story.[1]
