August was the Slayer in an alternate future Buffy Summers witnessed.[citation needed]
Biography[]
August was the successor to the Slayer Faith, since Faith had been killed a few months before Buffy's arrival in this alternate timeline. August was captured by the forces of the Vampire King, Rupert Giles, shortly after Buffy's arrival in the future.[citation needed]
Always troubled by the stress and responsibility of her role as the Slayer, August refused to listen to Buffy's appeals for patience and waiting for a chance to escape in favor of fighting Buffy so that one of them would die and a new Slayer would be called. During the subsequent fight, Buffy accidentally broke August's neck with a kick, but she was able to use the fight to create the impression that August had slit her throat, allowing her to catch the guards by surprise and escape herself.[citation needed]
August's successor was Anna Kuei, who apparently had been a friend of hers. Anna initially blamed Buffy for August's death until Willow Rosenberg helped her recall August's own troubles with her role as the Slayer.[citation needed]
