An attack on Annabelle and Buffy Summers was made by the first Turok-Han freed in Sunnydale.[1]

History[]

Background[]

Giles took three Potential Slayer to Sunnydale: Kennedy, Molly, and Annabelle. He also brought the information on the First Evil's plan to destroy the Slayer line, telling Buffy that she was the only chance the Potentials and the world had to survive.[1]

First round[]

Buffy and Giles went to the Christmas tree lot where Buffy had first found the Bringers[1] four years before.[2] She fell in a hole[1] and met the first Turok-Han the First Evil freed from the Hellmouth.[3] A stake to the Turok-Han's heart failed to kill it, and Buffy barely managed to escape alive from the fight; she climbed back to the surface and the first light of the day prevented the Turok-Han from following her.[1]

Second round[]

The Potentials saw the Slayer's bruised state and heard the failure on killing the new threat. As the sun set, Annabelle ran through the streets of Sunnydale until the Turok-Han found her. Buffy showed up in time to find her dead body and be attacked by the Turok-Han herself.[1]

Wounded, Buffy ran off in search of better fighting grounds and a useful weapon. Again, the Turok-Han had the upper hand, but Buffy dropped a bundle of heavy steel beams on the creature, smashing it to the ground. Practically unaffected, the Turok-Han rose from the mountain of beams and went after Buffy again. He threw her around some more, finally tossing her through a stone wall. Rubble and steel buried Buffy on the other side, leaving her unconscious.[1]

Aftermath[]

Buffy was found still unconscious under the rubble. Once home, she listened to her friends worry about her condition and their ability to fight the First. Buffy went downstairs and gave an inspirational speech to the Scoobies and two Potential about the challenge before them being bigger than any evil they had ever faced. She told the group that she was more scared than ever, but she was not about to back down then; there was a new plan: instead of waiting for it to make a move, they were declaring war on this evil.[1]

To improve morale, Buffy arranged a duel at the construction site against the Turok-Han, killing it in front of her allies and the growing group of Potentials.[4]

Participants[]

One Turok-Han fought the Slayer Buffy Summers and killed the Potential Slayer Annabelle.
