The first season of Angel originally aired on the WB from October 5 1999 to May 23 2000, concurrently with the fourth season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Lindsey helps Angel break into Wolfram and Hart to prevent a blind assassin from carrying out her deadly mission, While Angel is in Wolfram and Hart he comes across a scroll that he feel a weird connection with and he steals it. Notes: First appearance of Holland Manners. Crossover: Cordelia calls Willow for help in disc decryption, soon after the events of the theft. "Primeval".

Wolfram & Hart summon the demon Vocah to reclaim the mystical scrolls stolen by Angel. In order to distract Angel, Vocal cursed Cordelia into a catatonic state and blows up the Angel Investigations offices after retrieving the scrolls. Needing the scrolls to save a dying Cordelia, Angel interrupts a ritual preformed by Vocah. After killing the demon, Angel chops of Lindsey's hand when he tries to burn the scrolls. At the end of the season, Cordelia finally makes it her duty to save the innocent after being subjected to various visions of people in pain caused by Vocah, Angel discovers a prophecy that states he maybe able to became human again when he finds redemption and the ritual preformed by Vocah (which was taken over by Lindsey during Angel's attack) resurrects Angel's sire Darla.
