Angel #5 is the fifth issue of the Angel comic book series. Written by Bryan Edward Hill and illustrated by Gleb Melnikov, it was originally published on September 25, 2019 by Boom! Studios.

Synopsis[]

After teetering between Sunnydale and Los Angeles, Angel now knows exactly what his mission is — to make sure the Hellmouth stays sealed! He'll stop anyone who gets in his way, be it friend or foe, vampire… or Slayer.[1]

Continuity[]

  • The flashback takes place ten years before, circa 2009.
  • The vampire identifies himself as Luka, to be revealed as Okasa in Angel #6.
  • Gunn's childhood friend, Tyler, will have his name first mentioned in Angel + Spike #14.
  • The issue ends with Angel's perspective of the Hellmouth being activated in Buffy the Vampire Slayer #8.
