Angel + Spike, previously titled Angel in the first nine issues, is a comic book series spin-off to the Buffy the Vampire Slayer reimagining series. The seventeen issues were originally published from April 2019 to November 2020 by Boom! Studios.

Premise[]

Meet Angel — a vampire cursed with a soul who has spent centuries protecting humanity from the monsters that lurk in the dark… including himself. Now, looking for redemption for the atrocities committed by the monster he was when he was first turned at the age of 18, Angel stumbles upon a new demon uprising and a shocking truth: The restoration of his humanity can only come if he takes one more life: a certain Slayer from Sunnydale who he's never met… but may now be his greatest enemy.[1]

Continuity[]

  • This story is an alternative version of the original Angel series, with no sense of continuity between them.
  • The events are parallel to Buffy the Vampire Slayer (2019) series, crossing over in the miniseries Hellmouth.
  • The graphic novel anthologies Chosen Ones and Every Generation, as well as the Willow miniseries, are set in the same universe as this series.
