Angel and Faith is one of two canonical continuations of the comic book series Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season Eight following the characters of Angel and Faith Lehane . Joss Whedon announced that the licence to Angel comics is moving from IDW to Dark Horse in 2011, and titles revolving around Angel and Faith would be part of Buffy Season Nine. Scott Allie has confirmed at the Dark Horse ECCC in March 2011 that there will be a "Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 10."

Publication

Dark Horse confirmed unlike that of Season Eight, Angel and Faith’s story won't take years to tell, they are going to be taking a shorter approach to it. In an interview, writer and editor Scott Allie stated that Angel and Faith will be released over the course of two years, with there likely never being a month without an issue released. Angel and Faith will last a two-year span consisting of 25 issues. Allie also stated Buffy Season Nine and Angel and Faith will tie-in together, but they will have their own stories to tell. “Angel and Faith have their title and Buffy has her title, the two will complement each other, but you won't have to read both to understand either one of them." Scott Allie has stated "All the Angel IDW comics count, but they aren't gonna spend time nitpicking with the details". Buffy and Angel will have a slight cohesion, more than when the two shows were on the air but not so much that the characters will be flying back and forth from one book to the other. Angel and Faith will take place mostly in London and the surrounding area, it'll have a darker, more creepy noir vibe than Buffy Season Nine.

Characters

Angel and Faith will focus on the two of them. Joss Whedon has stated that he has plans for both Illyria and Connor. No real word on Gunn though. Page one of Angel and Faith is a flashback of Giles, "He's the third most important person in this series." Clem is confirmed to appear in Angel and Faith #5.
