Andrew Wells was an assistant to the vampire actor Angel and a member of Angel Investigations living in Los Angeles in a universe parallel to the universe without shrimp.[1]
Biography[]
Andrew grew up in Sunnydale and attended Sunnydale High School with Cordelia Chase and Daniel "Oz" Osbourne.[2] At some point, she began receiving visions of people in danger and moved to Los Angeles, joining Angel Investigations with Cordelia, Angel, Fred, Gunn, Spike, Wesley, and Lorne. When Angel became an actor on the show for Angel for Hire, Andrew became his assistant and driver.[1] During their adventures, they traveled to Pylea, where they met the Groosalugg, with whom Cordelia had a brief relationship, and fought the demon Lanugo. Lorne and Andrew especially became close friends, often watching films and television series together.[3]
In 2022 Andrew drove Angel to a party, and later watched the show Cordi with Lorne when Oz paid them a visit in the Hyperion, naked and covered in blood.[1] Oz explained that he was a werewolf and came from a different universe, where Angelus and Spike had killed his friends. After Angel was miniaturised due to magical means[2], Lorne and Andrew helped with researching for a way to return him to normal size with Oz. However, Lorne grew angry when Oz asked if they were a couple like his versions of Lorne and Andrew, while Andrew said they just hung out. Andrew did try to talk to Lorne about this later, but the demon told him to leave him alone.[3] Oz and Andrew played laser tag at the hotel while Angel Investigations went off to fight a demon. Upon returning to the Hyperion, Lorne apologized to Andrew for his earlier actions.[4]
Andrew helped put out the fire Daniel Holtz had set in his attack on the Hyperion and clean uo the damage.[5] One night, Andrew and Lorne were distracted from playing video games when Oz escaped his protective cell during his werewolf transformation.[6] Due to Angelus siring an army of vampires Andrew, Fred, Gunn and Wesley prepared for an attack and briefly believed Angel to be his soulless counterpart before learning the truth. They also tracked down Spike, discovering that not only had he killed his evil counterpart but that he was becoming soulless due to Dr. Daedalus draining him off his soul, while Lorne arrived with a still transformed Oz. Angel Investigations went to Daedalus' house to retrieve Spike's soul, but were interrupted by the arrival of Drusilla and Angelus with his army.[7]
The team managed to escaped thanks to Oz's werewolf abilities, and Andrew headed to the Hyperion with Fred, Gunn, and Lorne to get weapons. While there, Lorne began to say something to his friend, but Andrew interrupted him and, holding Lorne's hand, said he knew and corresponded it, which made Lorne smile. The three of them soon met with the others at a graveyard, where Daedalus had resurrected the Slayer Buffy Summers and died after becoming a vampire. After Angel killed his villainous counterpart, Andrew and the rest of Angel Investigations prepared themselves to fight what remained of the vampire horde.[8]
