After the Fall, Part One is the first issue of the After the Fall comic book series. Written by Brian Lynch with Joss Whedon and illustrated by Franco Urru, it was originally published on November 21, 2007, by IDW Publishing.
Synopsis[]
THIS IS IT! The official continuation of the ANGEL series! When last we saw Angel and company, they were charging into battle against Wolfram and Hart's Senior Partners and facing down endless demons in a dark and rainy alleyway.
Now, IDW Publishing is proud to present the story of Angel: After the Fall, as presented by Angel co-creator Joss Whedon, with a creative team hand-picked by Whedon himself, the Spike: Shadow Puppets team of Brian Lynch and Franco Urru.
Picking up where Season Five of the fan-favorite TV show ended, the first issue in this maxi-series looks at who lived after that climactic battle, who died, and what happened to all of Los Angeles in its wake.[1]
Summary[]
Following Team Angel's battle against Wolfram & Hart, Los Angeles has been sent to hell. Human survivors are scattered in camps around the city, and Angel has taken up arms against the near-constant threat. Demon Lords, including Burge, the Lord of Downtown L.A., rule separate boroughs of the city.
Angel, having tamed a dragon, rescues citizens from the destruction and sends them to Connor, Gwen, and Nina for sanctuary. Meanwhile, the deceased Wesley is now an incorporeal representative of Wolfram & Hart, and Gunn has been turned into a vampire.
Continuity[]
- The story is set after "Not Fade Away."
- Angel begins his narration saying: "It all started with a girl," which he also declared at the beginning of "City Of."
