IDW's series of adaptations of landmark Angel episodes continues with "A Hole in the World," one of the series' most heartbreaking episodes! Continuity[]
- This issue adapts the Angel season 5 episode "A Hole in the World."
- Gunn sings a song from a Gilbert and Sullivan opera, as he said his legal upgrade had included this knowledge for elocution ("Conviction").
- Wesley talks with Gunn about his new relationship with Fred, having first kissed each other in "Smile Time," and Gunn's accepting Wesley being with his ex-girlfriend, having breaking up in "Calvary." During Gunn's relationship with Fred, he confronted Wesley about his feelings for her in "Spin the Bottle," "Apocalypse, Nowish," and "Soulless."
- The Angel Investigations team discuss Lindsey McDonald's return under the alias Doyle, which they discovered in "You're Welcome."
- Angel talks about Lindsey bringing Spike back as a spirit stuck to the Wolfram & Hart Los Angeles branch building ("Just Rewards") then making him corporeal again ("Destiny").
- While in the hospital, Fred tells Angel: "handsome man saves me," referring to what she told him when they first met, in "Through the Looking Glass."
- The mention of Fred's internals liquefying is akin to when Mayor Richard Wilkins commented in "Graduation Day, Part One" how he felt his organs shifting from within himself as his Ascension into an Old One neared its completion.
