Honestly mixed as well, they will never be able to remake the original or do a better job with out bring in the modern day politics but also I want to see it as not having anything to do with Wedon given what he is like and has done.

Probably would have done the same thing.
I have mixed feelings on this episode, on the one hand I like it because it shows how Willow is genuinely a good person, also spike is in it which is a bonus as well as him giving some solid relationship advice to Buffy, and not so positive it further emphasises what a terrible person Xander is. But on the other hand it kinda feels out of nowhere in terms of the story at large as the reason for spike being there isn’t answered until two seasons later.
