Why do a lot of buffy fans get so hung up about spikes attempted rape scene and say things like "they ruined spike I can never forgive him now".
So Attempeted rape is crossing the line But not murdering innocent people while having no remorse about it and even laughing about it on multiple occasions like spike and every other vampire does on the regular?
He has no soul and no moral compass. He's a vampire. Of course in his position if he's infatuated with someone he's gonna force himself on them even if they don't want it. How is that any worse than anything other vampires or spike himself have done before?
Obviously it should not be excused. But why do a lot of buffy fans just ignore the other heinous things he did and act like this was the deal breaker for his character?
